THHN Wire Buyers in Ohio

We purchase surplus THHN wire from contractors, plants, distributors, and utilities throughout Ohio. Written offers, pickup arranged.

Electrical wire and cable only · Statewide Ohio coverage

THHN is the workhorse of commercial electrical work in Ohio. It is pulled through conduit in office buildings, schools, warehouses, and plants, which means every electrical contractor and every distributor in the state is holding some quantity of it that is no longer moving.

Thermoplastic High Heat-resistant Nylon-coated wire is rated 600 volts, 90 degrees Celsius in dry locations, and 75 degrees Celsius in wet locations when it carries the THWN designation as well. Most modern stock is dual or triple marked THHN, THWN, and THWN-2, which widens where it can legally be installed and makes it easier to resell.

We buy THHN in copper and aluminum, from 14 AWG branch wire up to 1000 MCM feeder sizes, on full factory spools, opened spools, and partial reels with a measured remainder.

How we evaluate and price THHN Wire

Every reel is placed in one of two buckets before a number is attached to it. Resalable cable is priced per foot on type, size, continuous length, jacket condition, and documentation. Recovery material is priced by weight on a certified scale. You see the split, because a single averaged number hides the only decision that matters.

Continuous length is the biggest variable. A reel with a legible tag and an unbroken run is straightforward. A reel with no tag, a weathered jacket, and an unknown remainder is a different product, and we will say so rather than pretend otherwise.

What helps us quote accurately

  • A photograph of the reel tag showing length and manufacturer
  • A close-up of the print on the jacket: type, size, voltage, temperature rating
  • A wide shot showing how many reels are in the stack
  • A photograph of the cut end, so the conductor and shield can be seen
  • Storage history: indoors, outdoors, or in a wet area

Selling THHN Wire anywhere in Ohio

We buy in every county, from Cuyahoga and Franklin to the smaller counties in the southeast. There is no requirement to bring material to a yard, and we do not claim a local branch we do not have. What we do have is a straightforward process: photographs, a written offer, and a pickup that is scheduled around your operation.

If you are unsure whether your material fits this category, send it anyway. Misidentifying cable is common, and telling you that you have something more valuable than you thought is a good outcome for both of us.

Questions

THHN Wire buying questions

Does THHN need to be on the original spool to sell?

No. We buy opened and partial spools. What matters is that the remaining length can be measured or reasonably estimated, and that the jacket print is still readable so the type, size, and voltage can be confirmed.

Do you buy mixed colors of THHN?

Yes. Black, red, blue, white, green, and other colors are all purchased. Mixed color lots are common from contractor stock and are quoted as a group rather than one spool at a time.

What is the difference between THHN and THWN-2?

Both are 600 volt building wires, but the wet-location temperature rating differs. THWN-2 is rated 90 degrees Celsius in wet locations, which is why dual and triple marked wire is more versatile and generally easier to resell.

Can I sell THHN that was left on a job site?

Yes, provided it was not exposed to standing water or physical damage. Tell us where it was stored and include a photograph of the exposed end so the condition is clear.

The process

How selling your surplus wire works

Four steps, no obligation, and a written offer before anything moves.

Send photographs and details

Reel tags, jacket print, a wide shot of the rack, and your best estimate of footage. A packing list helps if you have one.

Receive a written offer

We separate resalable cable from recovery material so you can see how the number was built.

Approve the terms

No obligation until you accept. If the offer does not work, you keep the material and we part on good terms.

Schedule pickup and payment

We coordinate loading and freight, and payment is made according to the agreed terms before material leaves.

Request a quote

Tell us what you have. Photographs of the reel tags and jacket print let us quote accurately the first time.
