Electrical Wire Spool Buyers in Ohio

We purchase surplus wire spools from contractors, plants, distributors, and utilities throughout Ohio. Written offers, pickup arranged.

Electrical wire and cable only · Statewide Ohio coverage

A full spool is the easiest thing in this business to sell. It has known contents, a known length, a manufacturer behind it, and a buyer somewhere who needs exactly that. The only real question is whether the spool is actually full and whether the label matches.

We buy full factory spools of THHN, XHHW, SER, tray cable, control cable, and medium voltage cable, along with palletized spool lots from distributor overstock and plant storerooms. Sealed spools with intact tags are quoted at the top of the range for their type and size.

If the spool has been opened, we treat it as a partial and price it on the measured remainder. That is not a penalty; it is just a different product.

How we evaluate and price Wire Spools

Every reel is placed in one of two buckets before a number is attached to it. Resalable cable is priced per foot on type, size, continuous length, jacket condition, and documentation. Recovery material is priced by weight on a certified scale. You see the split, because a single averaged number hides the only decision that matters.

Continuous length is the biggest variable. A reel with a legible tag and an unbroken run is straightforward. A reel with no tag, a weathered jacket, and an unknown remainder is a different product, and we will say so rather than pretend otherwise.

What helps us quote accurately

  • A photograph of the reel tag showing length and manufacturer
  • A close-up of the print on the jacket: type, size, voltage, temperature rating
  • A wide shot showing how many reels are in the stack
  • A photograph of the cut end, so the conductor and shield can be seen
  • Storage history: indoors, outdoors, or in a wet area

Selling Wire Spools anywhere in Ohio

We buy in every county, from Cuyahoga and Franklin to the smaller counties in the southeast. There is no requirement to bring material to a yard, and we do not claim a local branch we do not have. What we do have is a straightforward process: photographs, a written offer, and a pickup that is scheduled around your operation.

If you are unsure whether your material fits this category, send it anyway. Misidentifying cable is common, and telling you that you have something more valuable than you thought is a good outcome for both of us.

Questions

Wire Spools buying questions

How do you verify that a spool is full?

The reel tag lists the original length, and the wrap and seal show whether it has been opened. For opened spools we ask for a measured remainder or estimate from the wrap diameter.

Do you buy spools with damaged packaging?

Yes. A crushed box or a broken reel flange does not necessarily damage the wire. The jacket and conductor condition matter more than the packaging.

Can I sell a single full spool?

Yes, if it is a common size that a contractor would actually buy. Rare sizes and short lengths are easier to sell as part of a lot.

Do you pay for the empty reels?

We buy wire and cable, not empty packaging. Wooden reels are sometimes reused by the buyer, but they are not a separate product we purchase.

The process

How selling your surplus wire works

Four steps, no obligation, and a written offer before anything moves.

Send photographs and details

Reel tags, jacket print, a wide shot of the rack, and your best estimate of footage. A packing list helps if you have one.

Receive a written offer

We separate resalable cable from recovery material so you can see how the number was built.

Approve the terms

No obligation until you accept. If the offer does not work, you keep the material and we part on good terms.

Schedule pickup and payment

We coordinate loading and freight, and payment is made according to the agreed terms before material leaves.

Request a quote

Tell us what you have. Photographs of the reel tags and jacket print let us quote accurately the first time.

Photographs

Add up to six photographs: reel tags, jacket print, spool ends, and a wide shot of the inventory. Phone photos are fine. Total upload must stay under 10 MB, so resize very large images if needed.

No obligation. We reply with a written offer, usually within one business day.

What happens next

  • We review the wire type, condition, and footage.
  • You receive a written offer that separates resalable cable from recovery value.
  • If you accept, we schedule pickup and payment.
