The selling process

How to sell surplus electrical wire in Ohio

Photographs, a written offer, your approval, then pickup. Four steps and no obligation at any point before you accept.

Selling wire should not require an auction, a broker, or a month of emails. It requires someone who can identify what you have and price it honestly.

Step one: photographs

Four images do most of the work: the reel tag, the print on the jacket, a wide shot of the rack or stack, and the cut end. If the reel has no tag, the print and the cut end still tell us the type and size.

Step two: the written offer

You receive an offer that separates resalable cable from recovery material. Resalable cable is priced per foot on type, size, length, and condition. Recovery material is priced by weight. If part of your lot is only good for scrap, that is stated plainly rather than averaged into a single number.

Step three: your approval

Nothing moves until you accept. If the offer is not right, you keep the material and there is no cost to you.

Step four: pickup and payment

We coordinate loading and freight based on reel weights and site access. Payment follows the terms in the offer. For large lots we will schedule an inspection before the pickup date so there are no surprises on either side.

What makes a reel worth more

  • Continuous length, documented or measurable
  • Legible jacket print showing type, size, and voltage
  • Original reel tag and, for medium voltage, test reports
  • Dry indoor storage, out of sunlight
  • Undamaged jacket and clean conductor ends

What reduces value

UV-cracked jackets, water intrusion at the ends, cut-up lengths, missing identification, and crushed reels. None of these means the material is worthless. They mean it is priced as recovery or as used cable rather than as new surplus.

The process

How selling your surplus wire works

Four steps, no obligation, and a written offer before anything moves.

Send photographs and details

Reel tags, jacket print, a wide shot of the rack, and your best estimate of footage. A packing list helps if you have one.

Receive a written offer

We separate resalable cable from recovery material so you can see how the number was built.

Approve the terms

No obligation until you accept. If the offer does not work, you keep the material and we part on good terms.

Schedule pickup and payment

We coordinate loading and freight, and payment is made according to the agreed terms before material leaves.

Request a quote

Tell us what you have. Photographs of the reel tags and jacket print let us quote accurately the first time.

Photographs

Add up to six photographs: reel tags, jacket print, spool ends, and a wide shot of the inventory. Phone photos are fine. Total upload must stay under 10 MB, so resize very large images if needed.

No obligation. We reply with a written offer, usually within one business day.

What happens next

  • We review the wire type, condition, and footage.
  • You receive a written offer that separates resalable cable from recovery value.
  • If you accept, we schedule pickup and payment.
