Feeder Cable Buyers in Ohio

We purchase surplus feeder cable from contractors, plants, distributors, and utilities throughout Ohio. Written offers, pickup arranged.

Electrical wire and cable only · Statewide Ohio coverage

Feeder cable is where surplus electrical inventory gets expensive. A single reel of 500 MCM copper feeder can be worth more than every box of branch wire in the building, and a cancelled project can leave a dozen of those reels behind.

We buy feeder cable in copper and aluminum, from 1/0 through 1000 MCM, in 600 volt constructions and in medium voltage ratings up to 35 kV. Common insulations include THHN/THWN-2, XHHW-2, EPR, and XLPE, and the jacket print tells us which one you have.

Length is the main driver of value. A 500 foot run of 750 MCM is a straightforward resale; a 40 foot cut is recovery material. We will quote each reel on its own basis so nothing gets averaged unfairly.

How we evaluate and price Feeder Cable

Every reel is placed in one of two buckets before a number is attached to it. Resalable cable is priced per foot on type, size, continuous length, jacket condition, and documentation. Recovery material is priced by weight on a certified scale. You see the split, because a single averaged number hides the only decision that matters.

Continuous length is the biggest variable. A reel with a legible tag and an unbroken run is straightforward. A reel with no tag, a weathered jacket, and an unknown remainder is a different product, and we will say so rather than pretend otherwise.

What helps us quote accurately

  • A photograph of the reel tag showing length and manufacturer
  • A close-up of the print on the jacket: type, size, voltage, temperature rating
  • A wide shot showing how many reels are in the stack
  • A photograph of the cut end, so the conductor and shield can be seen
  • Storage history: indoors, outdoors, or in a wet area

Selling Feeder Cable anywhere in Ohio

We buy in every county, from Cuyahoga and Franklin to the smaller counties in the southeast. There is no requirement to bring material to a yard, and we do not claim a local branch we do not have. What we do have is a straightforward process: photographs, a written offer, and a pickup that is scheduled around your operation.

If you are unsure whether your material fits this category, send it anyway. Misidentifying cable is common, and telling you that you have something more valuable than you thought is a good outcome for both of us.

Questions

Feeder Cable buying questions

What length of feeder cable is worth reselling?

For 1/0 through 4/0, roughly 150 feet and up is workable. For 500 MCM and larger, 250 feet and up is where resale pricing becomes meaningful. Below that, the cable is usually priced on copper or aluminum recovery.

Why do you need the jacket print?

The print states the type, size, voltage class, and temperature rating. Without it, a buyer cannot confirm that the cable is suitable for the application, and the offer has to assume the worst case.

Do you buy feeder cable that was left outdoors?

Yes. Reels stored outdoors need the jacket inspected for UV cracking and water intrusion at the ends. Send photographs of the reel, the print, and the exposed end.

Can you handle a full truckload?

Yes. Freight and loading are part of the conversation once the quantity and reel weights are known.

The process

How selling your surplus wire works

Four steps, no obligation, and a written offer before anything moves.

Send photographs and details

Reel tags, jacket print, a wide shot of the rack, and your best estimate of footage. A packing list helps if you have one.

Receive a written offer

We separate resalable cable from recovery material so you can see how the number was built.

Approve the terms

No obligation until you accept. If the offer does not work, you keep the material and we part on good terms.

Schedule pickup and payment

We coordinate loading and freight, and payment is made according to the agreed terms before material leaves.

Request a quote

Tell us what you have. Photographs of the reel tags and jacket print let us quote accurately the first time.
