Electrical wire and cable only · Statewide Ohio coverage

Once wire gets above 4/0, the numbers get serious. A full reel of 750 MCM copper is a five-figure item, and the difference between selling it as cable and selling it as scrap is the difference between a good month and a bad one.

We buy 250, 300, 350, 400, 500, 600, 750, and 1000 MCM conductor in copper and aluminum, in THHN/THWN-2, XHHW-2, and feeder constructions. The larger the conductor, the more length matters, because a 100 foot cut of 1000 MCM is harder to place than a 500 foot run.

Reel weight, tag length, and jacket print are the three things that let us quote quickly. Photographs of all three usually produce an offer the same day.

How we evaluate and price Large Conductor

Every reel is placed in one of two buckets before a number is attached to it. Resalable cable is priced per foot on type, size, continuous length, jacket condition, and documentation. Recovery material is priced by weight on a certified scale. You see the split, because a single averaged number hides the only decision that matters.

Continuous length is the biggest variable. A reel with a legible tag and an unbroken run is straightforward. A reel with no tag, a weathered jacket, and an unknown remainder is a different product, and we will say so rather than pretend otherwise.

What helps us quote accurately

  • A photograph of the reel tag showing length and manufacturer
  • A close-up of the print on the jacket: type, size, voltage, temperature rating
  • A wide shot showing how many reels are in the stack
  • A photograph of the cut end, so the conductor and shield can be seen
  • Storage history: indoors, outdoors, or in a wet area

Selling Large Conductor anywhere in Ohio

We buy in every county, from Cuyahoga and Franklin to the smaller counties in the southeast. There is no requirement to bring material to a yard, and we do not claim a local branch we do not have. What we do have is a straightforward process: photographs, a written offer, and a pickup that is scheduled around your operation.

If you are unsure whether your material fits this category, send it anyway. Misidentifying cable is common, and telling you that you have something more valuable than you thought is a good outcome for both of us.

Questions

Large Conductor buying questions

Why is 500 MCM so common?

It is a practical size for large feeders and services, widely stocked and widely used, which makes it the easiest large conductor to resell.

Is 1000 MCM hard to sell?

It is a smaller market. The material is valuable, but the buyer pool is limited to projects that need that capacity, so length and documentation matter more.

Do you buy large conductor by weight?

For pieces that cannot be resold, yes. For full reels with a known length, we quote per foot.

Can you handle a reel that weighs 8,000 pounds?

Yes, with advance coordination on access and equipment.

The process

How selling your surplus wire works

Four steps, no obligation, and a written offer before anything moves.

Send photographs and details

Reel tags, jacket print, a wide shot of the rack, and your best estimate of footage. A packing list helps if you have one.

Receive a written offer

We separate resalable cable from recovery material so you can see how the number was built.

Approve the terms

No obligation until you accept. If the offer does not work, you keep the material and we part on good terms.

Schedule pickup and payment

We coordinate loading and freight, and payment is made according to the agreed terms before material leaves.

Request a quote

Tell us what you have. Photographs of the reel tags and jacket print let us quote accurately the first time.
