Frequently asked questions
What we buy, how offers are built, and what actually affects the value of surplus wire in Ohio.
Who buys surplus electrical wire in Ohio?
We do. Electrical Wire Buyers Ohio purchases industrial and commercial wire and cable statewide: copper and aluminum, building wire, tray and control cable, feeder, and medium voltage cable.
Where can I sell unused electrical wire?
Start by sending photographs to us through the quote form or by email. We buy throughout Ohio and do not require you to deliver material anywhere.
Is unused electrical wire worth more than scrap?
Usually much more, when it is resalable. Scrap pays for metal content only. A resalable reel carries the insulation, listing, and manufacturing value as well.
Can I sell partial electrical wire spools?
Yes. Partial spools are quoted on the remaining length. Small partials are usually grouped into a lot, while larger feeder partials can be sold individually.
What information do electrical wire buyers need?
Wire type, conductor material, gauge or size, voltage rating, approximate footage, number of reels, condition, and location. Photographs of the tag and jacket print confirm all of it.
Do you buy medium voltage cable?
Yes, from 5 kV through 35 kV, with tape shields or concentric neutrals, in EPR and XLPE. Above 69 kV we evaluate case by case.
Do you buy aluminum cable?
Yes. XHHW-2, SER, URD, and aluminum feeder are purchased routinely. Aluminum is priced on a different basis than copper.
Who purchases excess electrical distributor inventory?
We do, including slow-moving reels, discontinued constructions, and return stock. A stock report is often enough for a preliminary offer.
Can I sell discontinued electrical cable?
Yes. Age and discontinuation are not disqualifying. Storage condition and identification matter more than the date on the tag.
Do you buy large quantities of copper cable?
Yes, from single reels to full truckloads, including 500, 750, and 1000 MCM conductor.
Do you buy wire outside Ohio?
Our coverage is Ohio. If you are near the state line, ask and we will tell you whether it makes sense.
How fast is payment?
Payment follows the terms in the written offer, which is agreed before pickup. We do not remove material without a signed or written acceptance.
Do you charge for pickup?
Pickup and freight are part of the negotiated offer. There is no separate charge added after the fact.
What if I do not know what type of wire I have?
Send photographs anyway. Identifying cable from a jacket print or cut end is part of the job.
