Building Wire Buyers in Ohio

We purchase surplus building wire from contractors, plants, distributors, and utilities throughout Ohio. Written offers, pickup arranged.

Electrical wire and cable only · Statewide Ohio coverage

Branch circuit building wire is the highest volume, lowest unit value material in an electrical contractor's inventory. It is also the material most likely to be written off, because counting and repacking hundreds of partial spools feels like more trouble than it is worth.

We buy it anyway, as a lot. Twelve and fourteen gauge THHN, NM-B, MC branch cable, and the assorted partial spools that accumulate in every van and every back room are purchased together, priced on the resalable portion and the recovery portion separately.

If you are cleaning out a contractor shop, consolidating a distributor's slow-moving stock, or closing a facility, a mixed building wire lot is often the fastest thing to turn into cash.

How we evaluate and price Building Wire

Every reel is placed in one of two buckets before a number is attached to it. Resalable cable is priced per foot on type, size, continuous length, jacket condition, and documentation. Recovery material is priced by weight on a certified scale. You see the split, because a single averaged number hides the only decision that matters.

Continuous length is the biggest variable. A reel with a legible tag and an unbroken run is straightforward. A reel with no tag, a weathered jacket, and an unknown remainder is a different product, and we will say so rather than pretend otherwise.

What helps us quote accurately

  • A photograph of the reel tag showing length and manufacturer
  • A close-up of the print on the jacket: type, size, voltage, temperature rating
  • A wide shot showing how many reels are in the stack
  • A photograph of the cut end, so the conductor and shield can be seen
  • Storage history: indoors, outdoors, or in a wet area

Selling Building Wire anywhere in Ohio

We buy in every county, from Cuyahoga and Franklin to the smaller counties in the southeast. There is no requirement to bring material to a yard, and we do not claim a local branch we do not have. What we do have is a straightforward process: photographs, a written offer, and a pickup that is scheduled around your operation.

If you are unsure whether your material fits this category, send it anyway. Misidentifying cable is common, and telling you that you have something more valuable than you thought is a good outcome for both of us.

Questions

Building Wire buying questions

Is it worth selling partial spools of 12 AWG?

Individually, usually not. As a palletized lot, yes. We price mixed partial spools as a group, which is how most shops actually hold them.

Do you buy NM-B cable?

Yes, in full coils and clean partial coils. Cable that has been pulled, stapled, or stored in a damp basement is evaluated as recovery material.

What is the minimum quantity for a building wire purchase?

There is no fixed minimum, but the economics improve with volume. A single pallet of mixed spools is a reasonable starting point; a few loose coils are usually better donated or recycled locally.

Do you buy wire with the contractor's label on it?

Yes. Private labels do not change the underlying product. A photograph of the spool tag and the jacket print is enough to confirm what it is.

The process

How selling your surplus wire works

Four steps, no obligation, and a written offer before anything moves.

Send photographs and details

Reel tags, jacket print, a wide shot of the rack, and your best estimate of footage. A packing list helps if you have one.

Receive a written offer

We separate resalable cable from recovery material so you can see how the number was built.

Approve the terms

No obligation until you accept. If the offer does not work, you keep the material and we part on good terms.

Schedule pickup and payment

We coordinate loading and freight, and payment is made according to the agreed terms before material leaves.

Request a quote

Tell us what you have. Photographs of the reel tags and jacket print let us quote accurately the first time.
