Communication Cable Buyers in Ohio

We purchase surplus communication cable from contractors, plants, distributors, and utilities throughout Ohio. Written offers, pickup arranged.

Electrical wire and cable only · Statewide Ohio coverage

Communication cable is usually bought in boxes rather than on reels, and it is usually left over in quantities nobody wants to count. A structured cabling project that finishes with forty partial boxes is a normal Ohio installation, not an exception.

We buy Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6A in plenum, riser, and outdoor ratings, along with coaxial cable and general low-voltage cable from contractor and IT stock. Unopened boxes are the easiest to place; opened boxes are purchased as a lot.

Because communication cable is copper, even material that cannot be resold has recovery value. We will tell you which portion falls into which category before anything ships.

Communication Cable specifications we work from

The table below lists the constructions and ratings we see most often. If your material does not match exactly, send the jacket print and we will identify it.

How we evaluate and price Communication Cable

Every reel is placed in one of two buckets before a number is attached to it. Resalable cable is priced per foot on type, size, continuous length, jacket condition, and documentation. Recovery material is priced by weight on a certified scale. You see the split, because a single averaged number hides the only decision that matters.

Continuous length is the biggest variable. A reel with a legible tag and an unbroken run is straightforward. A reel with no tag, a weathered jacket, and an unknown remainder is a different product, and we will say so rather than pretend otherwise.

What helps us quote accurately

  • A photograph of the reel tag showing length and manufacturer
  • A close-up of the print on the jacket: type, size, voltage, temperature rating
  • A wide shot showing how many reels are in the stack
  • A photograph of the cut end, so the conductor and shield can be seen
  • Storage history: indoors, outdoors, or in a wet area

Selling Communication Cable anywhere in Ohio

We buy in every county, from Cuyahoga and Franklin to the smaller counties in the southeast. There is no requirement to bring material to a yard, and we do not claim a local branch we do not have. What we do have is a straightforward process: photographs, a written offer, and a pickup that is scheduled around your operation.

If you are unsure whether your material fits this category, send it anyway. Misidentifying cable is common, and telling you that you have something more valuable than you thought is a good outcome for both of us.

Questions

Communication Cable buying questions

Do you buy opened boxes of Cat6?

Yes, as part of a lot. We do not pay box pricing for a partial box, but the copper recovery value is real and the resalable boxes are priced individually.

Is plenum cable worth more?

Usually. Plenum rated cable costs more to begin with, and unopened plenum boxes hold value better than riser cable.

Do you buy fiber optic cable?

This site focuses on electrical wire and copper cable. Fiber is a separate market and we will say so rather than make an offer we cannot stand behind.

Can I sell a few boxes at a time?

A handful of boxes is usually below the threshold where pickup makes sense. A pallet of mixed boxes is a normal transaction.

The process

How selling your surplus wire works

Four steps, no obligation, and a written offer before anything moves.

Send photographs and details

Reel tags, jacket print, a wide shot of the rack, and your best estimate of footage. A packing list helps if you have one.

Receive a written offer

We separate resalable cable from recovery material so you can see how the number was built.

Approve the terms

No obligation until you accept. If the offer does not work, you keep the material and we part on good terms.

Schedule pickup and payment

We coordinate loading and freight, and payment is made according to the agreed terms before material leaves.

Request a quote

Tell us what you have. Photographs of the reel tags and jacket print let us quote accurately the first time.

No obligation. We reply with a written offer, usually within one business day.

What happens next

  • We review the wire type, condition, and footage.
