USE-2 Cable Buyers in Ohio

We purchase surplus USE-2 cable from contractors, plants, distributors, and utilities throughout Ohio. Written offers, pickup arranged.

Electrical wire and cable only · Statewide Ohio coverage

USE-2 is a single conductor underground service entrance cable, rated 90 degrees Celsius in wet locations and suitable for direct burial. It is often dual marked RHW-2/USE-2, which is the version most contractors and utilities actually stock.

Because it is a single conductor, USE-2 is usually purchased in matched sets for a service: two hots and a neutral, or three phase conductors plus a neutral. Partial sets are harder to place than full reels, so we quote accordingly.

We buy copper and aluminum USE-2 from 2 AWG through 500 MCM, and larger sizes by arrangement.

How we evaluate and price USE-2 Cable

Every reel is placed in one of two buckets before a number is attached to it. Resalable cable is priced per foot on type, size, continuous length, jacket condition, and documentation. Recovery material is priced by weight on a certified scale. You see the split, because a single averaged number hides the only decision that matters.

Continuous length is the biggest variable. A reel with a legible tag and an unbroken run is straightforward. A reel with no tag, a weathered jacket, and an unknown remainder is a different product, and we will say so rather than pretend otherwise.

What helps us quote accurately

  • A photograph of the reel tag showing length and manufacturer
  • A close-up of the print on the jacket: type, size, voltage, temperature rating
  • A wide shot showing how many reels are in the stack
  • A photograph of the cut end, so the conductor and shield can be seen
  • Storage history: indoors, outdoors, or in a wet area

Selling USE-2 Cable anywhere in Ohio

We buy in every county, from Cuyahoga and Franklin to the smaller counties in the southeast. There is no requirement to bring material to a yard, and we do not claim a local branch we do not have. What we do have is a straightforward process: photographs, a written offer, and a pickup that is scheduled around your operation.

If you are unsure whether your material fits this category, send it anyway. Misidentifying cable is common, and telling you that you have something more valuable than you thought is a good outcome for both of us.

Questions

USE-2 Cable buying questions

Can USE-2 be used indoors?

Only where the code permits it, and typically not inside a building beyond the service point. That limitation affects resale, which is why full reels with clear markings are worth more.

Do you buy partial sets?

Yes. A single conductor reel is still sellable if the length is useful, but matched sets command better pricing.

How do I confirm the size without a tag?

The conductor diameter and strand count identify the size. A photograph with a tape measure in the frame is enough for a preliminary quote.

Is USE-2 the same as URD?

No. URD is a multi-conductor distribution assembly; USE-2 is a single conductor. They are used in related applications but they are not interchangeable.

The process

How selling your surplus wire works

Four steps, no obligation, and a written offer before anything moves.

Send photographs and details

Reel tags, jacket print, a wide shot of the rack, and your best estimate of footage. A packing list helps if you have one.

Receive a written offer

We separate resalable cable from recovery material so you can see how the number was built.

Approve the terms

No obligation until you accept. If the offer does not work, you keep the material and we part on good terms.

Schedule pickup and payment

We coordinate loading and freight, and payment is made according to the agreed terms before material leaves.

Request a quote

Tell us what you have. Photographs of the reel tags and jacket print let us quote accurately the first time.
