SER Cable Buyers in Ohio

We purchase surplus SER cable from contractors, plants, distributors, and utilities throughout Ohio. Written offers, pickup arranged.

Electrical wire and cable only · Statewide Ohio coverage

SER cable is the round service entrance assembly used to bring power from a meter or disconnect into a panel. In Ohio it shows up on nearly every commercial build and every residential service upgrade, which means partial reels are a permanent feature of contractor inventory.

SER is constructed with two or three insulated conductors plus a bare ground, all wrapped in a moisture-resistant jacket. Copper SER is common in smaller sizes and aluminum SER dominates the larger feeders, especially 2/0 through 4/0.

We buy both. Full factory reels are the easiest to place, and clean partial reels with 100 feet or more remaining are routinely purchased.

How we evaluate and price SER Cable

Every reel is placed in one of two buckets before a number is attached to it. Resalable cable is priced per foot on type, size, continuous length, jacket condition, and documentation. Recovery material is priced by weight on a certified scale. You see the split, because a single averaged number hides the only decision that matters.

Continuous length is the biggest variable. A reel with a legible tag and an unbroken run is straightforward. A reel with no tag, a weathered jacket, and an unknown remainder is a different product, and we will say so rather than pretend otherwise.

What helps us quote accurately

  • A photograph of the reel tag showing length and manufacturer
  • A close-up of the print on the jacket: type, size, voltage, temperature rating
  • A wide shot showing how many reels are in the stack
  • A photograph of the cut end, so the conductor and shield can be seen
  • Storage history: indoors, outdoors, or in a wet area

Selling SER Cable anywhere in Ohio

We buy in every county, from Cuyahoga and Franklin to the smaller counties in the southeast. There is no requirement to bring material to a yard, and we do not claim a local branch we do not have. What we do have is a straightforward process: photographs, a written offer, and a pickup that is scheduled around your operation.

If you are unsure whether your material fits this category, send it anyway. Misidentifying cable is common, and telling you that you have something more valuable than you thought is a good outcome for both of us.

Questions

SER Cable buying questions

What is the difference between SER and SEU?

SER is round and carries a separate bare ground conductor. SEU is oval and uses a concentric bare neutral wrapped around the insulated conductors. Both are service entrance cable, and both are purchased.

Can I sell SER cable that was pulled and then removed?

Yes, if the jacket is intact and the ends are clean. Pulled cable with scuffed jackets or deformed conductor is evaluated as recovery material.

Which SER sizes are easiest to sell?

Aluminum 2/0 and 4/0 are the most liquid because they are used constantly for 200 amp services and subfeeds. Larger sizes sell well when the length is substantial.

Do you buy SER with the jacket slit for inspection?

A short slit at the end is normal. A jacket that has been opened along its length reduces the offer significantly.

The process

How selling your surplus wire works

Four steps, no obligation, and a written offer before anything moves.

Send photographs and details

Reel tags, jacket print, a wide shot of the rack, and your best estimate of footage. A packing list helps if you have one.

Receive a written offer

We separate resalable cable from recovery material so you can see how the number was built.

Approve the terms

No obligation until you accept. If the offer does not work, you keep the material and we part on good terms.

Schedule pickup and payment

We coordinate loading and freight, and payment is made according to the agreed terms before material leaves.

Request a quote

Tell us what you have. Photographs of the reel tags and jacket print let us quote accurately the first time.
