Welding Cable Buyers in Ohio

We purchase surplus welding cable from contractors, plants, distributors, and utilities throughout Ohio. Written offers, pickup arranged.

Electrical wire and cable only · Statewide Ohio coverage

Welding cable is built for abuse: fine stranded copper, a tough EPDM or CPE jacket, and enough flexibility to survive being dragged across a fab shop floor every day. Ohio has a lot of fab shops, and most of them have surplus lead cable.

Sizes run from 8 AWG for light work up to 4/0 for high-amperage welding, in red and black. Because the stranding is very fine, welding cable is also a favorite target for copper thieves, which is one reason shops clear out unused reels rather than store them.

We buy new reels and used leads, priced on the condition of the jacket and the amount of usable length.

How we evaluate and price Welding Cable

Every reel is placed in one of two buckets before a number is attached to it. Resalable cable is priced per foot on type, size, continuous length, jacket condition, and documentation. Recovery material is priced by weight on a certified scale. You see the split, because a single averaged number hides the only decision that matters.

Continuous length is the biggest variable. A reel with a legible tag and an unbroken run is straightforward. A reel with no tag, a weathered jacket, and an unknown remainder is a different product, and we will say so rather than pretend otherwise.

What helps us quote accurately

  • A photograph of the reel tag showing length and manufacturer
  • A close-up of the print on the jacket: type, size, voltage, temperature rating
  • A wide shot showing how many reels are in the stack
  • A photograph of the cut end, so the conductor and shield can be seen
  • Storage history: indoors, outdoors, or in a wet area

Selling Welding Cable anywhere in Ohio

We buy in every county, from Cuyahoga and Franklin to the smaller counties in the southeast. There is no requirement to bring material to a yard, and we do not claim a local branch we do not have. What we do have is a straightforward process: photographs, a written offer, and a pickup that is scheduled around your operation.

If you are unsure whether your material fits this category, send it anyway. Misidentifying cable is common, and telling you that you have something more valuable than you thought is a good outcome for both of us.

Questions

Welding Cable buying questions

Do you buy used welding leads?

Yes. Leads with intact jacket and clean ends are purchased as usable cable. Leads with cracked jacket or exposed conductor are recovery material.

What length makes a used lead worth selling?

Twenty-five feet and up is workable for a lead that is still flexible. Shorter pieces are usually grouped or recycled.

How do I identify welding cable without a tag?

Very fine stranding, a rubber jacket, and a print that says welding cable or lists the stranding class. A photograph of the cut end shows the stranding clearly.

Is welding cable priced differently from THHN?

Yes. It is priced as a flexible cable, and used material is discounted for jacket wear rather than treated as building wire.

The process

How selling your surplus wire works

Four steps, no obligation, and a written offer before anything moves.

Send photographs and details

Reel tags, jacket print, a wide shot of the rack, and your best estimate of footage. A packing list helps if you have one.

Receive a written offer

We separate resalable cable from recovery material so you can see how the number was built.

Approve the terms

No obligation until you accept. If the offer does not work, you keep the material and we part on good terms.

Schedule pickup and payment

We coordinate loading and freight, and payment is made according to the agreed terms before material leaves.

Request a quote

Tell us what you have. Photographs of the reel tags and jacket print let us quote accurately the first time.
