VFD Cable Buyers in Ohio

We purchase surplus VFD cable from contractors, plants, distributors, and utilities throughout Ohio. Written offers, pickup arranged.

Electrical wire and cable only · Statewide Ohio coverage

VFD cable is engineered for variable frequency drive output circuits, where fast switching creates noise that ordinary cable cannot contain. It carries a foil and braid shield, three symmetrical ground conductors, and usually a 1000 volt rating.

Because it is specified by drive manufacturers rather than chosen casually, VFD cable tends to be bought in project quantities. When a drive package changes or a project is value-engineered, the cable that was ordered for it becomes surplus.

We buy shielded VFD cable from 16 AWG through 500 MCM, in 3 and 4 conductor configurations, on full reels and partial reels. The shield construction and the ground symmetry are what make it identifiable.

VFD Cable specifications we work from

The table below lists the constructions and ratings we see most often. If your material does not match exactly, send the jacket print and we will identify it.

How we evaluate and price VFD Cable

Every reel is placed in one of two buckets before a number is attached to it. Resalable cable is priced per foot on type, size, continuous length, jacket condition, and documentation. Recovery material is priced by weight on a certified scale. You see the split, because a single averaged number hides the only decision that matters.

Continuous length is the biggest variable. A reel with a legible tag and an unbroken run is straightforward. A reel with no tag, a weathered jacket, and an unknown remainder is a different product, and we will say so rather than pretend otherwise.

What helps us quote accurately

  • A photograph of the reel tag showing length and manufacturer
  • A close-up of the print on the jacket: type, size, voltage, temperature rating
  • A wide shot showing how many reels are in the stack
  • A photograph of the cut end, so the conductor and shield can be seen
  • Storage history: indoors, outdoors, or in a wet area

Selling VFD Cable anywhere in Ohio

We buy in every county, from Cuyahoga and Franklin to the smaller counties in the southeast. There is no requirement to bring material to a yard, and we do not claim a local branch we do not have. What we do have is a straightforward process: photographs, a written offer, and a pickup that is scheduled around your operation.

If you are unsure whether your material fits this category, send it anyway. Misidentifying cable is common, and telling you that you have something more valuable than you thought is a good outcome for both of us.

Questions

VFD Cable buying questions

How is VFD cable different from ordinary shielded cable?

VFD cable uses three symmetrical ground conductors and a heavy foil plus braid shield specifically to control common-mode noise from drive output. Ordinary shielded power cable is not built the same way.

Do you buy VFD cable with the shield cut back?

Cutting back the shield at the termination is normal installation practice. Cable with the shield removed along its length is a different matter and is priced accordingly.

Which sizes are most in demand?

14 and 12 AWG for small drives, and 2 AWG through 4/0 for larger horsepower ratings. Length matters more than size for resale.

Can I sell VFD cable by the foot?

We quote per foot on resalable reels and by weight when the cable is only good for recovery.

The process

How selling your surplus wire works

Four steps, no obligation, and a written offer before anything moves.

Send photographs and details

Reel tags, jacket print, a wide shot of the rack, and your best estimate of footage. A packing list helps if you have one.

Receive a written offer

We separate resalable cable from recovery material so you can see how the number was built.

Approve the terms

No obligation until you accept. If the offer does not work, you keep the material and we part on good terms.

Schedule pickup and payment

We coordinate loading and freight, and payment is made according to the agreed terms before material leaves.

Request a quote

Tell us what you have. Photographs of the reel tags and jacket print let us quote accurately the first time.

What you have
Photographs

Add up to six photographs: reel tags, jacket print, spool ends, and a wide shot of the inventory. Phone photos are fine. Total upload must stay under 10 MB, so resize very large images if needed.

No obligation. We reply with a written offer, usually within one business day.

What happens next

  • We review the wire type, condition, and footage.
  • You receive a written offer that separates resalable cable from recovery value.
  • If you accept, we schedule pickup and payment.
