PLTC Cable Buyers in Ohio

We purchase surplus PLTC cable from contractors, plants, distributors, and utilities throughout Ohio. Written offers, pickup arranged.

Electrical wire and cable only · Statewide Ohio coverage

PLTC is power-limited tray cable, used for instrumentation, alarm, and control circuits that fall under Class 2 or Class 3 rules. It is rated 300 volts, which is the detail that separates it from power tray cable.

Because PLTC carries low-energy circuits, it is often bought in multi-pair constructions with foil shields and drain wires. Sizes run from 18 AWG down to 22 AWG, with conductor counts from two up to several dozen pairs.

We buy PLTC in shielded and unshielded constructions, on full reels and partial reels, from integrators, panel shops, and plant maintenance departments across Ohio.

How we evaluate and price PLTC Cable

Every reel is placed in one of two buckets before a number is attached to it. Resalable cable is priced per foot on type, size, continuous length, jacket condition, and documentation. Recovery material is priced by weight on a certified scale. You see the split, because a single averaged number hides the only decision that matters.

Continuous length is the biggest variable. A reel with a legible tag and an unbroken run is straightforward. A reel with no tag, a weathered jacket, and an unknown remainder is a different product, and we will say so rather than pretend otherwise.

What helps us quote accurately

  • A photograph of the reel tag showing length and manufacturer
  • A close-up of the print on the jacket: type, size, voltage, temperature rating
  • A wide shot showing how many reels are in the stack
  • A photograph of the cut end, so the conductor and shield can be seen
  • Storage history: indoors, outdoors, or in a wet area

Selling PLTC Cable anywhere in Ohio

We buy in every county, from Cuyahoga and Franklin to the smaller counties in the southeast. There is no requirement to bring material to a yard, and we do not claim a local branch we do not have. What we do have is a straightforward process: photographs, a written offer, and a pickup that is scheduled around your operation.

If you are unsure whether your material fits this category, send it anyway. Misidentifying cable is common, and telling you that you have something more valuable than you thought is a good outcome for both of us.

Questions

PLTC Cable buying questions

Can PLTC be used in the same tray as power cable?

That depends on code separation requirements and the listing of the cable. From a buying standpoint, PLTC-ER is the version most often specified for exposed tray runs.

Is PLTC worth selling in small quantities?

Multi-pair shielded cable has real unit value, so even a few hundred feet can be worth a conversation. Small single-pair remnants are usually grouped.

What is the difference between PLTC and TC?

Voltage rating and circuit class. PLTC is 300 volts for power-limited circuits; TC is 600 volts for power and control. The jacket print states which one you have.

Do you buy PLTC with the shield foil torn?

A torn foil at the end is normal. A shield that has been compromised along the length reduces the offer.

The process

How selling your surplus wire works

Four steps, no obligation, and a written offer before anything moves.

Send photographs and details

Reel tags, jacket print, a wide shot of the rack, and your best estimate of footage. A packing list helps if you have one.

Receive a written offer

We separate resalable cable from recovery material so you can see how the number was built.

Approve the terms

No obligation until you accept. If the offer does not work, you keep the material and we part on good terms.

Schedule pickup and payment

We coordinate loading and freight, and payment is made according to the agreed terms before material leaves.

Request a quote

Tell us what you have. Photographs of the reel tags and jacket print let us quote accurately the first time.

Photographs

Add up to six photographs: reel tags, jacket print, spool ends, and a wide shot of the inventory. Phone photos are fine. Total upload must stay under 10 MB, so resize very large images if needed.

No obligation. We reply with a written offer, usually within one business day.

What happens next

  • We review the wire type, condition, and footage.
  • You receive a written offer that separates resalable cable from recovery value.
  • If you accept, we schedule pickup and payment.
